Piranha Motorsport's championship challenge went with the wind at Snetterton when the catalytic converter came loose in its 3 month old housing and blocked the exhaust, thereby destroying the engine. A replacement engine was sourced with the kind help of Matt Cummings at the Stratton Motor Company. The team then set to work converting the new engine to dry sump, supercharged race spec. The conversion and instillation was finished at 4.30 in the morning and the car was out for warm up at 9.00am. The engine felt great straight away and driver Simon Mason posted the fastest GT4 time in the wet session. However, the flywheel bolts sheared during the session and it was game over for the team.
